Set an hourly wage
Once you have entered the employee's hourly wage, you can click ‘Save’ in the top right corner.
Set a monthly salary
When you add an employee’s monthly salary, you can choose whether it should be included in your labor percentages or not, while also selecting the distribution method you want:
1. Don't include
Salaried employees are excluded from labor cost and labor percentage calculations.
2. Distribute salary across scheduled hours
Keep the total monthly salary fixed and distribute it evenly across all scheduled hours.
3. Convert salary to an hourly rate
Estimate an hourly rate based on the monthly salary, divided by the hours in the employee’s work hours profile. Labor costs increase for each scheduled hour.
Note: If the employee’s monthly salary should be used for distribution, it's important that you set up a work hours profile that defines the employee’s expected working hours. Read more here.
How to change an employee's existing pay
If you need to change an employee's pay, you go to the employees profile and enter the section as you did when you added the first pay. From here, you have two options:
Edit the current pay
Please note that if you choose this method, the pay will also be changed retroactively, and there will therefore be no historical data on the old pay.
Add a new pay
If you need to add a new pay that starts after the current one expires, you can add an end date on the current pay. Select 'Add end date' and set the date the pay should end. After that, you can add a new pay by selecting 'Add pay' down below, enter the new amount and click 'Save' once you're done with your changes.
By adding an end date on the first pay, you ensure to keep historical data on the employee's pay in the schedule. The new pay will be enabled after the end date of the previous pay.
