Workfeed's handbook feature is designed to make employee onboarding, information sharing, and policy management easier than ever. With handbooks, you can seamlessly store and distribute important information, grouped neatly in collections, and control exactly who can access them.
Creating a handbook
To create a handbook, simply follow these steps:
Navigate to the handbooks overview by clicking on the handbook icon in the top right of your screen.
To create a new handbook, click on the blue plus icon and select either 'Add handbook' to make one from scratch or 'Add PDF handbook' to upload an existing PDF handbook from your device.
Give your handbook a name, add a cover image, and write your content. When you're ready, you can click 'Save and continue'.
Determine in which collection(s) the handbook should be added.
Define who should be able to view the handbook.
Publish the handbook.
Organizing handbooks in collections
Handbooks can be neatly organized into groups called collections. To create a new collection, click on the blue plus icon and select 'Add collection'.
If you prefer to add more layers, you can create sub collections by opening an existing collection, clicking on the blue plus icon and selecting 'Add sub collection'.
Controlling access to handbooks
Workfeed allows precise control over who sees each handbook. You can define the visibility settings when creating or editing a handbook from the handbook settings.
Defining the visibility settings of a new handbook: Go through the handbook creation steps shown above and define the visibility settings in step 5.
Editing the visibility settings of an existing handbook: Open the handbook and click on the three dots in the top right of your screen and select 'Settings'.
See who's read a handbook
If you are curious about which employees have actually read your handbooks, you can easily see how many people and which individuals have read a specific handbook. To see who's read a handbook, click on 'X users have marked as read'.
Accessing handbooks in Workfeed
Handbooks can be accessed by you and your team by clicking on the handbook icon in the top right screen in both the desktop version and the app version. Employees can only see the handbooks they are granted access to. If anyone is looking for a specific handbook they can use the search function to find it.

Can I edit an existing handbook?
Yes, you can edit an existing handbook. To do this, open the handbook, click on the three dots, select 'Edit handbook', make your changes, and hit 'Save'.
Can I restrict visibility of handbooks to specific employees?
Yes, visibility of handbooks can be set to specific departments, roles, or individuals in the handbook settings.
What happens if I delete a handbook?
When you delete a handbook, it will disappear forever, and it can not be restored. Make sure to review carefully before deleting.
What happens if I delete a collection?
When you delete a collection, all associated sub-collections will be converted into collections, and the handbooks will remain there.
