This guide tells you anything you need to know about the integration between Shopify POS and Workfeed. The integration itself is super simple, but some questions naturally arise along the way. You can find answers to all your questions below!
How the integration works
Once you've enabled the integration between Shopify POS and Workfeed, your sales data will automatically be sent from Shopify POS to Workfeed. This allows you to see your sales and labor rate in real-time within Workfeed while also gaining access to deeper insights. Once you've gathered enough sales data, Workfeed will also provide you with revenue forecasts based on historical patterns taking aspects like weather into account. The combination of Shopify POS and Workfeed ultimately allows you to schedule more accurately.
Enabling the integration
Login to your Shopify POS account and search for "Workfeed" in the Shopify App Store.
Follow the installation process.
You will be redirected to Workfeed where you can login to your account, or if you are not a Workfeed user yet, create a new account.
Click on Yes, connect to enable the integration.
The integration is enabled, you will be redirected to Workfeed's schedule view where the POS data will appear below every day of the week (only on today and historical days with data) and in the dashboard tab. If you do not see the data appear in the schedule view, make sure to check if POS data is enabled in the schedule interface settings which can be found by clicking on the '👁️' icon.
Benefits of the integration
Once you integrate Workfeed with your POS system, Workfeed will automatically retrieve your sales data from your POS system in real-time and visualize it below the schedule. When you click on the Sales figure, you'll be able to take a deeper dive into your sales figures with insights like:
Your sales in real-time
Sales comparisons with similar days
The distribution of sales throughout the day (total per hour)
Average revenue per guest (also requires a booking integration)
Average revenue comparisons with similar days
Having this data at your disposal enables you to create work schedules that match the expected revenue on any given day. At the same time, you can keep an eye on your labor rate to make sure you stay within your labor budget.
FAQ.
What data does Workfeed retrieve from my Shopify POS account?
Workfeed retrieves every transaction from the connected Shopify POS account.
How frequently does Workfeed retrieve data from Shopify?
Your sales data is continuously updated in Workfeed, meaning the sales data you see in Workfeed is basically in real-time.
We have multiple locations in Shopify, how do I match them with the correct departments in Workfeed?
You can connect Shopify locations to departments in Workfeed from the integration settings. You can access the integration settings by clicking on the settings icon ‘⚙️’ at the top right of the screen and selecting ‘integrations’. Then you can search for Shopify, click on ‘settings’, and select ‘match departments’.
When you click on ‘match departments’ you will see all your Workfeed departments. You can then select the codes (Shopify employee IDs) that belong to each department. The codes you see are Shopify Employee IDs, it is important that you check the code of each employee in the department they work in. You can find the Employee ID in Shopify by clicking on 'Point of Sale', selecting 'Staff', and then clicking on an employee's name. Once you have opened an employee's profile, you can find that employee's Employee ID in the search bar (the code after the last ‘/’).
I do not see any sales data in my Workfeed account, why?
There could be a few reasons:
Firstly, double check if the integration is enabled correctly. You should be able to see whether this is the case if you go to settings > integrations > and see integrated in green next to the Shopify logo.
If the integration is enabled correctly, you should be able to see sales data on days where data is present in your Shopify POS account. Data will only be visible on historical days or on today if there's transactions present.
If you don't see any data but and the integration is enabled, you can check if you see transactions in the connected Shopify POS account. If that's the case, please reach out to our support team via the chat on our website.
I don't see any data in the schedule view, why?
If you do not see the data appear in the schedule view, make sure to check if POS data is enabled in the schedule interface settings which can be found by clicking on the '👁️' icon.
